Yesterday we had the chance to take Boston and Savannah to the Draper Temple Open House. The kids were so excited to go to the "open house" and it was a great chance for Trav and I to teach them more about the importance of the temple. The temple is gorgeous! It is set right in the middle of a subdivision in the mountains. There is such neat artwork and paintings all throughout the temple and every room is so beautiful!
Boston said his favorite part of the temple was the "baptism place" and Savy said she loved going up the stairs and riding the bus (???)
It was such a neat experience. I think people probably think their kids are too young to understand, but it was so great to see our little ones grasp some of the concept of why the temple is important and all of the special ordinances that take place there. When you first arrive there, they have you watch a video that some of the brethren are in, and at one part Elder Holland is talking about how the temple reminds him of Heaven, and when he thinks of Heaven, he can't imagine himself there without his wife and his children. So true, and I am so glad that our family is sealed together for eternity.
(It was so cold we didn't stop to take pictures, but here is one I found online. )

I can't wait to go later in February.
How awesome you got to do that! We hope we can make it up there to see it. Mike Zaharis was over all the woodwork. I went through when it was under construction and can't wait to see it finished. I think any little experience like that can touch a kid.
We got your adorable announcement today! So cute!
OH I love love love the picture of your kids, they are all sooooo cute! That temple is beautiful too. We took Josi and she looked for Jesus the whole time and was so disappointed that she never saw him. WHOOPS

It looks beautiful! I can't wait for our turn to go. We are waiting for Ricky to get home in a couple of weeks so we can all go together. Can't wait!
