December Happenings

December started with a bang and all of us took our turns being sick.  Poor Colston was hit the worst and was laid out for over a week.  They never pinpointed what he had, but we are guessing it was the flu, since there has been a major outbreak in Texas.  Bummer, since we all got flu shots, so glad we are healthy again!
Here is a look at what else we were up to this month....

Our elf Syd also came back from the North Pole for the month of December.  The kids always love seeing what our silly elf is up to each day!

Although, Syd did go back to the North Pole for a few days, until the kids were able to get along again!

Travis and I went to the Neon Trees concert.  We are big fans of the band and they put on an amazing show!  Trav was also able to get the hook up from the radio station to see their private show that morning too.

This year we opted for the mini gingerbread village this year.  The kids each loved decorating their own little house!

Savannah had her "Jingle Jam" recital at gymnastics.  This girl is loving gymnastics and it is so fun to watch her perform!

This year I went with a postcard style for our Christmas card.  I love how they turned out!

We went to see Santa at the Round Rock Christmas celebration this year.  The line was so long, since it was a free event, but the kids were determined to see the big guy.  It was worth the hour wait to see these kids so happy chatting away with Santa!  Gotta take advantage of these sweet moments while they are still young!

Boston and Savannah had their first piano recital today.  They both had their pieces memorized and did such a great job!  I am so proud of these two.  They are so diligent in their practicing and are both really good at playing too!

I was able to help with both of the kids class Christmas parties again this year.  Boston's was a breakfast theme and they wore their pajamas.  They both had some fun crafts and games too.  Of course my little side kick was right by my side and was my awesome bingo helper!

We learned that free events aren't always the way to go.  We decided to venture downtown for the "trail of lights" and ended up stuck in major traffic-which should have been our first sign to turn around.  Then when we got to Zilker park we saw the giant crowds- we are talking 60,000 people- sign two.  We still joined the crowd and were herded through the lights until we had had enough of feeling claustrophobic and barely moving.  We jumped the fence and bolted back to the entry.  At least it's always an experience we'll remember, right?

A day wouldn't be complete without Savy and her awesome outfit changes.  This girl sure keeps us entertained and laughing!
