After a crazy couple of weeks, we are all settled in our house!!! It feels good to be back into a some what normal routine and have our house back in order. If you are considering moving across country during the cold winter months -DON'T- we have done it twice in the past year and it is brutal! Not just the weather, but the whole process and craziness with the holidays. Luckily, we have awesome family and friends who have been a great help to us and we are so glad to have it all over with!
The kids are back in school and loving it! They have had so much fun reconnecting with all their school and neighborhood friends. We love being surrounded by family, and have had a great time being close to them. I can't seem to get my body temperature back to normal. I miss the warm Texas weather, but I am blasting the heat in our house and slowly remembering we have to bundle up wherever we go. ;)
I have to document our crazy 25+ hour drive home. When we left Austin it was pouring rain, and the rain continued all the way to New Mexico where we hit snow, well really a full on blizzard from then on. It was my first time driving by myself for that long, but I stayed close to Travis and was surprised at how time flew by and it wasn't that bad. We only got separated once and I ended up on my way to Arizona, while Travis made the turn off to head through Colorado. It only put us behind a good 45 minutes, and that is where we really hit the snow storm. We had to stop in Cortez, Colorado because the roads were closed ahead of us. The next morning we woke up to A TON of snow! Most of the people staying in our hotel were making reservations to stay another night, but we were really anxious to get home to our family, and decided to brave the roads. The roads were slick, there was a lot of snow, and we had to go pretty slow most of the way, but we made it! The worst part for me was driving through Price and Spanish Fork Canyon. I think I had a few heart attacks traveling down the steep roads, I was anxious to get home and the roads were so icy. We were definitely watched over as we traveled, because besides some squeaky breaks on the Tahoe, we made it here just fine!
Luckily, we packed swimsuits! The kids had a blast swimming in the indoor pools both nights we stayed in hotels. They kept saying things like, "This is a great vacation!" I guess staying in a hotel is all a kid needs to think they are on a fun trip!

Glad you are all moved back in and unpacked! Moving is so draining! Mom said you had everything organized and it was so easy to put it away! I am not surprised at all that makes a huge difference. Don't freeze to death!
I am glad you guys are back!! I am sorry you had to drive in that weather yuck. We will have to get together soon:)
