Boston has been very into Scouting since he turned eight and when he stumbled upon the merit badge about "pets" he jumped right on asking us about getting one. We are definitely not pet people, including our kids, so this one wasn't at the top of the priority list. After a few weeks of the kids asking over and over, and being on their "bestest" behavior, we decided to venture to the pet store for family night. We were on the search for the most low maintenance pet, and so we settled on a beta fish. I am surprised at how much we all love our lone little fish "Violet." I catch the kids talking to her all the time, and they are so good about remembering to feed her, her three little fish pellets every day. Maybe this will ease us into eventually getting another pet, but we'll see. {wink, wink}
