tHe eLf oN a sHeLf

Tonight while we were decorating the Christmas tree the doorbell rang, and on our front porch there were two special packages all wrapped up with a note from Santa. The kids were so excited to open the presents, in the the first box they found new jammies. Then in the second box a book called, "The Elf on a Shelf" and a cute little elf all dressed in red. We read the book to them, and to sum it up, the story is about a little elf that comes to visit during the holidays. He watches everything the kids do, and then at night he flies back to Santa to tell him if they have been good that day. He moves all throughout the house and watches, the only rule is that no one can touch him or he looses his magical powers. The kids named our elf "Syd". It is such a cute story, and I love this new tradition. We need a little help around here to stay on the "nice" list, so we are hoping Syd does the trick. Boston and Savannah were all definitely trying extra hard to be good tonight, they hurried and got all ready for bed and went right to sleep. Syd may need to stick around all year, but until then here's hoping we all can stay on the nice list for Christmas!

Syd finally found a cozy spot to hang out for the night in Savy's stocking.
