{one month and counting...}

Well, I have officially been in Texas for a month now. It is crazy how fast this month has gone by, but at the same time it feels like we have lived here for a lot longer than that. We are really liking it so far. I am still learning my way around, the freeways are totally confusing, but things are good. I love keeping in touch with everyone back home, your calls, texts, emails me so much so I can stay in the loop. The other day I asked Boston and Savannah what they miss about Utah and what they love about Texas so far.

Boston
What he misses about Utah: Tanner and Jace, his cousins and best buddies and our old house.
What he likes about Texas: his new friends, our new house and his new room, his new school and cactus'.

Savannah
What she misses about Utah: dance class, Miss Denise and her preschool friends, our old house and her princess chair that got left behind.
What she likes about Texas: the library, her new BFF's Gracie and Kate and preschool with Mommy.

I guess while I am at it I might as well add mine to the list :)

What I miss about Utah: friends and family, Bajios, my house, my neighborhood and ward, grandma sycamore's bread, my kids pediatrician especially today when my baby isn't feeling too hot, the mountains, my little sis Megan (she deserves her own shout out), Traci- my hairdresser, I am in desperate need of a haircut and color about now...the list could go on and on.....
What I like about Texas: the weather, our new neighborhood, our ward, the great friends we've made so far, the shopping, the friendly people and having Travis HOME!!!

I am sure we will add to our list of "likes" as time goes on. It has definitely been an adjustment for all of us, but things are good. We have the balance in our lives that we were missing when Travis was traveling out of town all of the time. Him being gone was not only hard on me, but the kids too. It was a big leap of faith for us to move here, and it has paid off so far. I feel like my life has taken a complete 180*. Things have slowed down quite a bit for me, which I am totally not used to. I have a go-go-go type of personality, so it has been kind of strange not to be running from this to that all day long. I know it won't last long, so I am really trying to focus on what is important and soaking in all of the time that I have to spend with my kids each day.

Cute post Linds! I hope things are starting to feel more like home. Love all the Texas Celebration stuff. We're in Arizona but we already miss you too. Just knowing you won't be there when we hit Utah makes me sad! But we will have to plan our trips to be there at the same time.
